- Description
- THIS IS A NON-COMPETITIVE (NOTICE OF INTENT) COMBINED SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT OR PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING BRAND-NAME). The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), on behalf of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition (including brand name) to Molecular Devices, LLC, 3860 N First St., San Jose, CA 95134-1702, or an authorized distributor thereof. The determination by the Government to award a contract without providing for full and open competition is based upon the market research conducted that identified no other sources of supply or service capable of achieving this Government requirement within the required time frame. The required items are needed for an existing system that is currently covered by a service agreement. The required items must operate seamlessly with the existing system and also must not invalidate the current service coverage. As a result, only items from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) can meet this requirement. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the NationalInstitutes of Health (NIH) requires an HS-EMCCD camera for a FLIPR Tetra. This FLIPRTetra currently has an ICCD camera and must be upgraded to an HS-EMCCD camera. Thishigh-speed electron multiplying charge-coupled device (HS-EMCCD) camera captures upto 100 images per second and offers exceptional luminescence performance. This cameramust be accompanied by the Peak Pro 2 software, which will allow the camera to operateand communicate with the FLIPR Tetra. Thiscamera and associated software must be compatible with the FLIPR Tetra highthroughputcellular screening system, which this camera will be installed on.This upgraded camera will upgrade the FLIPRTetra to the FLIPR Penta. See attached CSSfor complete requirement details.
