SDVOSBS Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Sole Source (FAR 19.14)
 

Description

The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate a firm fixed price purchase order, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a Single Source, with Alliant Enterprises, LLC (""Alliant"") to purchase Olympus optical and optomechanical components pursuant to the upgrade of an existing IX83 Microscope. Pin-to-pin compatibility with optical design and other optomechanical elements are essential to keep the IX83 Microscope system matched mechanically and optically to maintain a high level of detection efficiency/system performance.�� Deviation from Olympus branded items and their associated specifications could result in a reduced level of collection efficiency, spectral agility and/or a total failure of the platform.�� Alliant Enterprises, LLC (""Alliant"") was selected by Olympus America Inc., Scientific Solutions Group (""Olympus"") as its exclusive authorized Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business reseller for the needed microscopy components. The authority of 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(5) allows the agency's need is for a brand-name commercial product for authorized resale.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333314- Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by 4:00PM (EST) on Monday July 06, 2020. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to Harry.Brubaker@NIST.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
