Description
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Illumina Inc., to procure an annual maintenance agreement on sequencing equipment. The sequencing instrumentation used by the VRC includes: Miseq, Nova 6000 and Cbot2 sequencing equipment. These High throughput sequencers are unique to the field and allows for a deep sequence analysis of clonotypic repertoires in healthy, disease and vaccine settings The purpose of this acquisition is to support the VRC mission to obtain servicing of all the high throughput sequencing instrumentation in the laboratory. Optimal instrumentation function is integral to the completion of the many projects dependent on this instrumentation. Due to the critical nature of this equipment, maintenance services are required, to ensure the equipment is operational and will support the critical research in the laboratory. It is imperative that the instruments are operational and available for NIAID research efforts. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (E) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responsible sources that could provide comparable services may submit a capability statement that will be considered by email (subject line to reference NOI-NIAID-201966 to Laura Grey at laura.grey@nih.gov, by 2:00 pm eastern standard time Monday, June 29th . All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
