Description
Sources are being sought for the planned issuance of a subcontract engineered design of the Surface Work phase of a three-phase project. This Surface Work General Service scope supports the new U1a Refuge Station at the Nevada National Security Site outside Las Vegas, Nevada. The U1a Complex is a Hazard Category 2 complex located in Area 1 of the Nevada National Security Site. The facility is approximately 25 miles north of Mercury, Nevada, and 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. The New Refuge Station Build Out Project is the last of three projects in a Portfolio which, when completed, will result in an underground refuge station for 125 individuals. This Surface Work Phase will bring the infrastructure from various location on the surface of the complex to the bore hole on the west side of the Complex. The bore hole is a 1000 foot deep 20.0 inch deep diameter duct (for fresh breathable air) with various size conduits on the west side of the bore hole to be used for power, fiber and copper to the Refuge Station at the bottom of the bore hole. This engineering design will include support from Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Fire Alarm, Communications, and Mining Engineering support. The design will include: Permanent Power from a 34.5kV system (step down and distribution will include 4.16kV to 480V) Emergency Backup Power Redundant Ventilation and HVAC for a 125 person Refuge Station (via a 1000 foot deep 20.0 inch diameter duct) Fiber Copper (Telephones, Public address) Calculations Quality Inspection Plans Specification(s) Bill-of-Material � including the identification of long-lead items Walk Downs Discovery and Existing Drawing reviews Tie-ins to existing systems Tie-in to the underground buildout phase Trenching 30%, 60%, 90% Design Reviews Issue 100% for construction documents MSTS Submittal process for review of subcontract documents Subcontractors are sought who have the demonstrated experience and capability to provide a complete engineered design to support an underground refuge station for emergency use when an underground worker cannot egress to the surface. Interested sources are requested to provide the following information: Company capabilities in infrastructure support for underground refuge station design Experience as it relates to the above scope. Minimum of 5 years' experience performed within the last 10 years. Business size, socio-economic status if small business Point of contact with an Email address. A determination of set-aside will be made based on the responses received.
