Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract, on a sole source basis, with Industrial Marine, Inc., CAGE 1QX62, 7259 Old Plank Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32254-2754 using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 procedures. NAWCAD Lakehurst has a requirement for the welding, machining, final blast, and paint of a quantity of six (6) each SHUTTLE FRAMES, P/N 622559, 1720-01-158-1698 under 1ST DOG WELD REPAIR CRITERIA and for the welding, machining, final blast, and paint of a quantity of one (1) each SHUTTLE FRAMES, P/N 622559, 1720-01-158-1698 under 2ND DOG WELD REPAIR CRITERIA. The Catapult Shuttle is an aviation Critical Safety Item (CSI). A critical path in the launching of aircraft aboard aircraft carriers, the catapult shuttles are a mission essential component that will cause degradation to the fleet�s ability to perform assigned missions in support of the warfighter, should the welding, machining, final blast, and paint not be completed. The shuttles are urgently needed to fill outstanding requisitions, and the impact if timelines for these repairs is are not met will be detrimental to the warfighter. After extensive research, Industrial Marine, Inc. was found to be the only capable vendor to weld and machine these shuttles in accordance with NAVAIR 51-15ABD-2 change 1. Industrial Marine, Inc. has successfully completed prior contracts, are compliant to NAVAIR CAI/CSI directives, and are certified to perform the work. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. � This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, that if received by 11:00 AM EDT on 25 June 2020 shall be considered by the agency. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Responses to this notice must include the company name, point of contact, address, area code and telephone number, electronic mail (e-mail) address and company literature sufficient to determine the capability of this company to perform this effort.
