- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for planning purposes to identify interested vendors for the requirement detailed below. A formal solicitation, performance work statement, and technical exhibits are not available for release at this time. In accordance with FAR 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Leetown Science Center (LSC) has a requirement for the bioinformatic analysis of amplicon sequences. The Contractor will be expected to provide all personnel, equipment, tools and materials to perform these services. A partial list of technical requirements includes: 1. Providing taxonomic classification of sequence reads using a closed reference, curated database. 2. Generating analysis of commonly targeted amplicon sequences (e.g. 5S, 16S, 23S, gyrB, rpoB, 18S, 28S, and ITS genes of bacterial and fungal species from environmental samples with the capability to query whole genomes of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The Government anticipates award of an indefinite delivery contract with fixed-price task orders. Issuance of a solicitation will be determined by the results of this request for information. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be made available through the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE), https://fbohome.sam.gov/. It is the offeror�s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 621511 Medical Laboratories. The size standard is $35.0 million. Vendors who believe they can responsibly perform this requirement should submit the following information to the contract specialist no later than the response date of this request for information: 1. Capability statement describing corporate expertise and technical qualifications to meet the attached requirements to include subcontracting for third party expertise. 2. Small business status of potential offeror (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 3. Point of contact information for potential offeror, Cage Code, and D&B Number. 4. Any other information that will prove the potential offeror can perform the required effort. Interested businesses should submit the above information to the attention of Daniel Galvin, by email only to dgalvin@usgs.gov. Do not submit information through FedConnect. Responses should be limited to 10 pages (single-sided). NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. This is not a request for proposals/quotations. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses received under this announcement.
