- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Earthquake Science Center, Menlo Park, CA has a requirement for Remediation and Installation of Infrastructure for USGS Seismic Stations. The Request for Quote, number 140G0320Q0122, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about 22 June 2020. The Government anticipates award of a Firm-Fixed Price type contract. Please contact the Contracting Officer, in writing, by email at cciccarelli@usgs.gov , with any questions. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2020-06, effective 06/05/2020. This requirement is set aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 238910 �Site Preparation Contractors. The associated size standard in millions of dollars: $16.5 apply to this announcement. This requirement is set aside for small businesses. The applicable product/service code is Z2PZ, repair or alteration of other non-building facilities. Project Summary Project Name: Strainmeter Vault Remediation and Seismic Infrastructure Installation Project Address: 6 Sites throughout the Central and Northern California Region Project requirements: Experienced construction contractor Tentative dates of contractor performance: 8/3/2020 to 9/30/2021 The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This requirement is subject to Construction Wage Rate Requirements statute (prevailing wage, formerly Davis-Bacon Act). Contractor to remediate five shallow underground vaults and replace four with surface-mount installations in Northern California, and to construct an additional surface-mount installation with a shallow borehole (1-3 meters) at a site in Central California. The project scope includes the removal and disposal of underground vaults, drilling of a shallow borehole, and the installation of equipment vaults, DC power system (including solar array), grounding system, telemetry infrastructure, and drainage system that comprises a seismic station. Skills necessary include demolition, excavation, concrete, electrical (specifically DC and solar), general construction, and landscaping/site restoration. Contractors must have a current contractors� license Class A � General Engineering Contractor, issued by the government of California at the time quotations are due to be considered for award and must use appropriately licensed subcontractors on this project. All relevant project documents will be made available electronically to interested parties at no charge with the Request for Quotation (RFQ).
