The audio distribution unit must be capable of the following: 1. Minimum of four audio input channels (for connection to intercom and/or radios) a. Signal dynamic range: 40 dB with 2 Vpp-max b. Individual volume control for each channel (with amplification) c. Individually selectable receive enable with the ability to simultaneously receive all input channels as well as persistent local intercom (see 5.c) 2. Minimum of four audio output channels a. Configurable dynamic range (40 dB with 2 Vpp max) i. Microphone level control ii. Microphone amplifier b. Individually selectable transmit enable (single channel transmit only) 3. >80 dB of isolation between all receive and transmit channels 4. Master volume control 5. Three aviation headset/microphone inputs (standard low-impedance aviation headsets.) a. Compatible with active noise-cancelling headsets b. Individual microphone sensitivity/level control c. Local intercom between the three headsets (non-push-to-talk (PTT); voice (VOX) enabled) persistent with no selectivity required 6. Ten foot cable with transmit channel selector and PTT button 7. Headsets one and two can transmit on any of the outside channels a. Via PTT button(s) b. Selectable which channel can transmit i. Selectable on panel ii. Selectable from remote cable (see 6) [Only Operator One has a selector on their cord- see 6] 8. Two output control channels with pull-high (selectable voltage up to 28 V) or pull-to ground selectivity for external triggering of radio/intercom system (ICS) PTT circuits 9. Size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements include: a. Maximum size: 9.50 x 7.25 x 3.00 b. Maximum weight: 9 lbs c. Power i. 28 VDC input via four connector interconnect (two V+, two V- (ground)) ii. Maximum power draw: 50 W Review of this information is being performed by NIWC Atlantic Code 56220, which aims to conduct objective comparative assessments and validations of commercial ADUs to determine if the solution meets the Governments requirements. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in NIWC Atlantic documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Compliance with above requirements 7. Audio quality: a. Total harmonic distortion, plus noise (THD+N) of system b. Signal to noise and distortion ratio (SINAD) of system 8. Any environmental testing/certifications completed a. Maximum operating altitude b. Compatible temperature ranges i. Storage ii. Operational c. Any shock-vibration testing that has been completed d. EMI-EMC testing The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in NIWC Atlantic projects. If a NIWC Atlantic project requiring this type of equipment is executed, the equipment selection will be based upon a number of factors, including responder surveys and focus group inputs.
