- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quote is requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This competition is full and open to all businesses. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a size of 1,000 employees. This solicitation incorporates the provisions and clauses in effect in Federal Acquisition Circular 2020-06 dated 05 May 2020 and Defense Publication Notice 20200408 dated 8 April 2020. Requirement Description: The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) has a requirement for one (1) QIAGEN QIA System to include the QIASymphony, QIAgility, and QIAxcel components or equal. The Pediatrics Department is involved in basic science research as part of the Uniformed Services University�s efforts to address operational needs of the military personnel and their families as well as educate and support fellows, residents and medical students. To address military relevant research goals, current projects are focused on analysis of radio-induced cancer. In order to develop cancer 2 screening tools in alignment with DoD Cancer Care initial capabilities document (ICD) and the Murtha Cancer center will be extracting nucleic acids from a large series of irreplaceable samples from both military members and individuals exposed to external irradiation.
