- Description
- This requirement is for live telephone support, on-call maintenance, remote diagnostics, and preventive maintenance (PM) services for the Abbott Prism system at the United States Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan. The Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) soliciting from a single source. The proposed manufacturer is Abbott Diagnostics, 100 Abbott Park Rd, Abbott Park, IL 60064, USA. The period of performance for this requirement is 26 Sep 2020 through 25 Sep 2021, with one (1), twelve (12) month option year. The contractor shall provide qualified technicians; Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts; perform maintenance, repairs, and calibration; and provide all supervision, equipment, supplies and transportation for technicians to maintain the equipment.� The contractor shall train one hospital employee to do repair work and maintenance on the instrument, and establish a parts depot on-site.� Live telephone support shall be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Abbott PRISM nEXT is an automated immunoassay analyzer designed to perform chemiluminescent immunoassay (ChLIA) technology.� The Abbott PRISM nEXT performs batch/continuous access and STAT processing of specimens containing both large and small molecular weight analytes.� The system is a fully automated, high-volume blood donor screening analyzer designed to enhance the safety of the blood supply.� The Prism instrument consolidates blood donor testing into a single system, reducing errors and tampering by automating the manual testing procedures and steps currently used to screen blood. There are not set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811219. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
