Description

Specifications The Microwave Strain Task Team, within the ARMD Transformational Tools and Technologies Project, led out of the Advanced High Frequency Branch at NASA Glenn Research Center, requires a single robotic arm positioning system capable of orientating microwave sensors and instrumentation in order to image ceramic coatings on turbine blades for aircraft propulsion applications. The robotic arm is required to meet the following specifications: ?�Is able to operate off of 120 volts, single phase power supply ?�Is able to be mounted in any orientation ?�Has a total robot weight of 45.5 pounds or less. ?�Provides at least 2 digital and analog IO channels for interacting with external sensors. ?�Is able to provide at least 33 inches (838.2 millimeters) of reach from base to end of arm. ?�Is able to provide a pose repeatability of +/- 0.001 inches (+/- 0.03 millimeters) or smaller. ?�Is able to lift 11 pounds (5 kilograms) payload. ?�Is able to provide force and torque sensing capability of loads mounted to arm, with a precision and accuracy equal to or better than 4.5N and 0.5Nm. ?�Is provided with a control box and teach pendant for easy programming. ?�Operates with 6 Degrees Of Freedom (DOF) or greater for positioning control. ?�Each DOF joint must have +/-360 Deg. range of rotation. ?�Must be compatible with existing UR10 and UR10e systems, as well as MST�s control and analysis software.
