Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Emeritus Health and Safety, LLC for the primary purpose to obtain personnel support to conduct the industrial hygiene activities for the exposure assessment portions of the NORA Project Protecting Oil Workers through Enhanced Surveillance, Exposure Assessments, and Control Evaluations. This contractor will help the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Western States Division-Denver (WSD) to accomplish the goal of reducing occupational injuries, illnesses, and fatalities among oil and gas extraction workers. Specifically, this contract will help WSD to support the NORA Project Protecting Oil Workers through Enhanced Surveillance, Exposure Assessments, and Control Evaluations. This project was selected and funded by NIOSH in response to a high fatality rate in the industry coupled with a recognition by the NIOSH Oil and Gas Program and its partners (in the NORA Oil and Gas Sector Council) that there is still a lack of useful information about occupational exposures to oil and gas workers during extraction and production activities. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within seven days (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any response should be emailed to the appropriate point of contact at EEH3@cdc.gov by 11:00 AM on 9 June 2020.
