Document Type:� Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Solicitation Number: RFQ-NIH-NIAID-2023754 � Description: � This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIH-NIAID-2023754 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) FAC 2020-06 and effective 05/06/2020.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325414 Biological Product (except diagnostic) Manufacturing business size standard of 500 employees. This requirement IS not SET-ASIDE for small business. Background and laboratory needs: The mission of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC) is to conduct research that facilitates the development of effective vaccines for human disease. ExpiFectamine� 293 Reagent is a proprietary cationic lipid-based reagent for the transfection of nucleic acids into eukaryotic cells. To transfect high-density suspension Expi293F�cells, the lab scales the transfections up or down by proportionately adjusting the amounts of the reagents used. The Expifectamine transfection kit is unique in that it allows for high density growth and protein production, with the accompanied use of other 293Expi components such as specific cell lines.
