Description

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to require, on a sole�� source basis, purchase and installation of ABB Inc. Model ACQ580 variable frequency drives (VFD) and the Evoqua Water Technologies LLC DEPOLOX 400M chlorine residual analyzers for the new booster chlorination system at the Durham Meadows Superfund Project, Middletown (City), Connecticut (CT). The Durham Meadows Waterline Project includes the installation of approximately 30,000 linear feet of water main to transport clean water from Middletown, CT to 120 local homes and businesses in Durham, CT.� The water main will be gravity fed from a new water storage tank to be installed in Middletown, CT, which in turn will be filled via connection to the existing Long Hill Pump Station, Middletown, CT.� The new VFDs and chlorination equipment are necessary to make these new connections. The City requests the manufacturer and service for the new VFDs and chlorine residual analyzers be from the same service and supplier that currently supports the City�s installed systems.� This is because all of their water system facilities have existing service and part agreements with representatives for those manufacturers and suppliers.� By consolidating the service and parts, the City would not incur additional expenses for training their limited operational staff to operate and maintain different types of equipment.� �
