- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office 22 (NCO 22) is conducting a market survey and is seeking potential sources for a Lancer Ultima Series 815 glassware washer. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for information and planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation or a request for proposal and shall not be construed as an obligation or commitment by the Government. An award will not be made on any offers submitted in response to this notice, and it shall not be implied the Government is committed to providing any solicitation or award following this notice. GENERAL INFORMATION: The Laboratory Glassware washer will be used for research purposes to clean various types of lab glassware that is used in various laboratory experiments. The Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center Research Service has a requirement to purchase Laboratory Glassware washer in support of researchers. . DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS: Laboratory Glassware washers are used to provide thorough and effective cleaning for various types of glassware used in labs. Lab Glassware washers use potent detergents to clean difficult to remove contaminants like biological materials, organic chemicals and pharmaceutical based contaminants. These washers also perform an acid rinse that insure detergents are effectively removed from the glassware. Finally, the washer finishes the cycle with a rinse of distilled, deionized water to ensure the glassware is contaminant free. We currently have a Lancer washer. For ease of use, training, maintenance and supplies we are requesting that this instrument be a TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: All components in contact with wash and rinse solutions made of stainless steel or other materials impervious to the effects of detergents, additives, and general laboratory chemicals. Voltage: 208V, 3-Phase, 60 Hz Machine must have an internal heating element and blower to allow for quick drying in wash chamber. A steam condenser to remove vapor and steam whenever chamber temperature exceeds 50°C (122°F). Condensate, vapors and steam channeled to drain. Glassware Racks and Trays made of sanitary high-grade stainless steel, removable, interchangeable on two rack levels, with full extension roller slides attached to rack/tray, pinned in place for safety to prevent accidental roll-out. Sanitary high-grade stainless steel injectors, mounted in racks with headers inserted into water outlet on wall of chamber; injectors threaded into rack for easy removal, cleanout, and replacement. Rack-to-Column Connection Valves that automatically opened when injector racks or spray arm racks are inserted into any level of the multi-level chamber. Sanitary high-grade stainless steel spray arms mounted on top and bottom of chamber; racks and trays available with spray arms mounted on bottom, with headers inserted into water outlet on wall of chamber; easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. Front, drop-down, spring counterbalanced door capable of supporting full glassware load and functioning as a loading platform. Fully Extendable Load Bearing Arms that support jet racks for easy loading and unloading of glassware. Capable of storing 20 user-definable programs. Ability to perform up to 3 prewash cycles, at up to 95°C, of 0 to 30 minutes each. A wash cycle at up to 95°C, of 0 to 30 minutes. Ability to perform 0 to 9 fill rinses, 30 second rinse and drain cycles. Ability to perform 0 or 1 cycle Acid Rinses of 0 to 30 minutes, 0 to 6 minutes (1,680 ml) of liquid acid rinsing additive intake at 280 ml/min. Ability to perform a cold or hot (up to95°C) deionized/purified water rinse. Alarm conditions displayed in plain language with clear definition, not requiring reference to operation manual for interpretation of codes. Capable of heating up to and maintaining water at 95°C for a minimum of 30 minutes. Automatic intake and dispensing of liquid detergent with independent adjustable dosing times for each prewash and wash cycle. Automatic intake and dispensing of liquid acid rinse additive with adjustable dosing times. Door safety interlock acts as a fail-safe by removing power from machine output components when door is in the open position. Two sensors control water level inside machine and prevent overflow. Door lock prevents interference with wash cycle once it is in operation.
