Description
DESCRIPTION: The National Institutes of Health - NICHD intends to procure SH800 Cell Sorter Deposition System as per attached/below justification. This proposed procurement is for products and services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis to Sony Biotechnology, Inc., located at 1730 N 1st St 2Fl, in San Jose, CA 95112 . In order to comply with the requirements in this Solicitation/Special Note, the responses should be based on our interpretation of the general requirements provided below. Special Note: The proposed contract action is for an upgrade to an equipment manufactured by Sony and which is not compatible with any other cell sorter out in the market. In fact, the Mfr/vendor has opted not to use any reseller or third party. It is also a continuation of previous services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and/or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within the time and date of publication of this ""Special Notice"" will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement. HOW TO RESPOND: In order to compete for this project, interested parties must be registered in the Central Contracting Registration and submit a price quotation by 4 am, ET, June 11th 2020. Offerors should submit one copy of the quote to MOE FILALI via email. Electronic transmissions to Moe.Filali@nih.gov are preferable but must be timely. It is the responsibility of the Offeror to ensure the proposal is received by the date and time shown above. All questions should be directed earlier.. Background and Labs Justification for SH800 Cell Sorter Deposition System Our lab studies the genetic and environmental mechanisms that regulate initial interneuron fate decisions in the embryo and prenatal mouse brain. We perform a wide variety experiments that require cell sorting to harvest fluorescent cells or nuclei for which we utilize the Sony SH800 cell sorter in the lab. With our current cell sorter, we can only collect bulk cell/nuclei samples into 1 tube. The purchase of this deposition system will allow us to collect single fluorescent cells into individual wells for future downstream analysis We are upgrading Sony SH800 cell sorter with a Deposition System that will allow us to collect individual cells or nuclei into either 96-well or 384-well plates The following Federal Acquisition Regulations clauses are incorporated by reference: FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (Mar 2005), 52.212-4 (Sept 2005), 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes of Executive Orders-Commercial Items (Aug 2006).
