- Performance Work Statement Emergency Medical Technician / Paramedic continuing Education 1. PURPOSE The overall purpose is to provide training for up to 20 participants that provides recertification in the practice of Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic for firefighters at the Alexandria VA facility. It will include hands on and online training. Onsite training to be held at Alexandria Veterans Healthcare System, 2495 Shreveport Hwy Pineville,LA 71360 2. SCOPE Contractor shall be required to come to Alexandria Veterans Healthcare System to conduct this training. 3-day onsite training days per month that builds upon the information and implementation as set forth by National Registery Emergency Medical Technician/ Paramedic (NREMT) that shall be provided to participants upon arrival. Online class will be assinded to meet National registery recertification requirments and will be asined by the instructor that prevides the contract. The online platformed will be provided by the contractor and all fees will be paid by contractor. Once this training is done, participants shall have the necessary skills and confidence for job skill set.. 3. TRAINING TOPICS -TOPICS SET FORTH BY NATIONAL REGISTRY FOR EMT AND OR PARAMEDIC Preparatory Airway OB, infants, Children Patient Assessment Medical/Behavioral Trauma 4. TRAINING OBJECTIVES NREMT guidelines for training 5. TRAINING SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING Course manual/curriculum All materials for learning and practice Clinical Education Hands on practice skills 6. SERVICES REQUIRED 6.1 Provide 3 two(2) hour days on hands on traing per month 6.2 Keep training hours loged into NREMT data base 6.3 Provide online traing program that meets all NREMT standards 6.4 Provide each student with password protected acess to the training website 6.5 Keep track of all training hours in the NREMT data base. 6.6 Acuire all fees required to recertify all 20 students with NREMT and State of Louisiana certification. 6.7 Acuire all fees for online traing platform 6.8 Will be required to conduct onsite traing on none consecutive days to cover all shifts 6.9 Required to conduct make up classes for anyone that missed and needs class for recertification 7.0 Instrutor must hold a National Registery Paramedic Licenices and be a certified EMT instructor 7.1 Instructor must meet State of Louisiana requirments to teach in said state 7. INSTRUCTOR TRAVEL EXPENSES Travel expenses shall not be reimbursed under this agreement or any orders resulting from this agreement. 8. PERIOD AND PLACE OF PERFORMANCE Exact training dates shall be determined each month. 8.2 Classes will take place at VA Fire dept at 2495 Shreveport Hwy Pineville,LA 71360 9. FACILITY HOURS AND FEDERAL HOLIDAYS Normal hours of coverage are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. All on site services shall be performed during normal hours of coverage unless requested or approved by Fire Chief or his/her designee. The Government hereby provides notice and Contractor hereby acknowledges receipt that Government personnel observe the listed days as holidays: New Year's Day January 1 Martin Luther King's Birthday Third Monday in January President's Birthday Third Monday in February Memorial Day Last Monday in May Independence Day July 4 Labor Day First Monday in September Columbus Day Second Monday in October Veterans Day November 11 Thanksgiving Day Fourth Thursday in November Christmas December 25 In addition to the days designated as holidays, the Government observes the following days: Any other day designated by Federal Statute Any other day designated by Executive Order Any other day designated by the President s Proclamation 10. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS The contractor shall not have access to VA Desktop computers nor shall they have access to online resources belonging to the government while conducting services. No removal of equipment from the VA is required. 11. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Performance standards define desired services. The Government performs surveillance to determine if the contractor exceeds, meets or does not meet these standards. The Performance Parameter Chart below includes performance standards. The Government shall use these standards to determine contractor performance and shall compare contractor performance to the Acceptable Quality Level.
