- The Department of Veterans Affairs El Paso VA Health Care System (EPVAHCS), Ambulatory Surgical Unit requires the purchase of Two (2) LUMERA MICROSCOPE 700 Eye Operating Microscopes (Complete Set with accessories). EPVAHCS is posting this combined Synopsis/Solicitation , through the Contracting Officer in San Antonio, Texas. The government intends to make a contract award to the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable vendor that can provide the required items in accordance to the attached documents, as a result of this solicitation for quotes. This action is Small-Business set-aside . The NAICS is 334510. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate evaluations and award decisions. Place(s) of Performance Department of Veterans Affairs, BIOMED Section, 1st floor Main Building, 5001 N. Piedras El Paso TX 79930 EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Requests for 2 of the same units to replace the current Zeiss and Leica microscopes which are beyond their LE. Operating scope is specifically for Eye Surgery procedures. Microscope must be mobile not ceiling mounted so can be used in any OR suite. Microscope is sterile draped during use. Adjustment handles are available as disposable or reusable with steam sterilization. Unit can be cleaned with standard disinfectant, except for lenses. The unit includes a monitor so staff/Tech can see surgical field, follow surgical process and anticipate surgeon needs. a. Salient characteristics, technical specifications shall be met for consideration. SHALL INCLUDE ALL THE FOLLOWING for consideration: see below Key Features: Shall be made of Durable metal, glass Shall be able to use standard hospital grade voltage. 120v Purpose: To illuminate and magnify the surgical or procedural field. Provide and unobstructed view during surgery. Operating Room Suite; visual acuity is adjustable with sterilizable or disposable handles/covers. Must be mobile/wheels with locks. End Process: Illuminate and magnify the surgical/procedural field during eye (intraocular and cataract) surgery. Use with other equipment: Shall be compatible with Phaco machine which is used to remove cataracts and insert eye lenses into the eye. Also used with micro eye instruments. View the eye structures or procedural field for precise microscopic surgery Salient Characteristics: Mobile with lockable wheels. Eyepiece must be 10X power for each eye. shall have an objective lens at F=200mm for magnification shall be adjustable in height to accommodate the surgical field and patient position. shall provide 180-degree tiltable and foldable tube shall have Xenon light source for improved detail recognition and color rendering index (CRI). shall include an assistant scope for 2nd provider or tech. shall include an integrated monitor at least 22 with floor stand for OR team viewing. shall include steam sterilizable microscope handles. shall include a camera for case documentation shall include a foot control panel for operating surgeon Cable shall be at least 14 fct to avoid any trip hazard shall include operator and technical manuals shall include a storage cover for protection when not in use.
