Description: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation The NOAA Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) operates and maintains a fleet of three heavy aircraft, which are utilized for various atmospheric and environmental missions. Each of these aircraft is equipped with a Novatel research quality GPS receiver system. This acquisition is for three additional Novatel GPS receivers. These will replace the primary Novatel GPS receivers on each of the three heavy aircraft and allow for the existing units to be used as secondary receivers and spares (of which we have none). These receivers have equivalent function as the existing Novatel GPS units. The �function� referred to here is not only they scientific quality of the data from the Novatel GPS unit, but also the Novatel unique serial interface protocol, for which the NOAA aircraft data system has been customized to accept. The Novatel PwrPak7D will meet the requirements of a form fit function replacement for the current Novatel Receivers installed on the aircraft. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number NMAN6000-20-01169 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2020-06. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 334511, Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing; the small business size standard is 1,250 employees.
