Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Trustees of Boston University, 85 E. Newton St M-921, Boston, MA 02118-2340 ) to provide a computerized coding system that is used in collection and analysis of drug data in epidemiological studies developed and maintained by the Slone Epidemiology Center (SEC) of Boston University.� It appears there are no other companies that can offer services of Trustees of Boston University�s as all products are manufactured by their company. No other company is able to provide information as Trustees of Boston University, owns the copyright, developed and maintains the Slone Drug Dictionary.� Any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the government, which is not expected to be recovered through competition. This contract action is for a service agreement in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within Two (2) days of the issuance of this notice, in accordance with FAR 5.203(1), will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to the contract specialist at efi6@cdc.gov �by COB 27 May 2020.
