Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to BioTek Instruments, Inc. Highland Park, P.O. Box 998, Winooski, Vermont 05404-0998 for a one year service agreement which is needed to properly maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory equipment manufactured by BioTek to conduct/analyze many HIV prevention and transmission scientific studies. It appears there are no other companies that can offer products of BioTeks�s as all equipment is manufactured by their company as well as no other company is able to provide replacement parts or service agreements.� Any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the government, which is not expected to be recovered through competition. This contract action is for a service agreement in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within Two (2) days of the issuance of this notice, in accordance with FAR 5.203(1), will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to the contract specialist at efi6@cdc.gov �by COB 27 May 2020.
