- Description
- REQUIREMENT TITLE: Flare Based Data Logger NSN/Part Number: N/A Solicitation Number: Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334513 which has a corresponding Size standard of 750. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. Program Details: 2.1 The Government is performing market research to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required for the minor modification of COTS temperature, pressure, and vibration data logger technology for determining actual temperatures and vibrations encountered during flights for flares. The modified data logger will be integrated into an inert flare case (1""x1""x8"") and adaptable to larger case sizes (1""x2""x8"", and 2""x2.5""x8"") for recording temperature across 3-6 different points on the flare case (top, middle, bottom) in an effort to determine the temperature gradient, and 3-axis vibration encountered during extended flights. For the intent of tracking and altitude based system boot up and shut down, the flare data logger must be capable of measuring and recording pressure data. The temperature range that will be encountered is anticipated to be between -65 F and 171 F. The battery power must withstand the temperature extremes while recording the temperature and vibration as described in MIL-STD-810. Storage media must be non-volatile. Temperature accuracy is to be within +/-2 F or better. Applicable software must have some variables (recording frequency, duration and AGL pressure triggers, etc) modifiable. 3. Required System Specifications 3.1 Form Factor: 3.1.1 Weight: Gross Weight: 0.44 lbs 3.1.2 Overall External Dimensions: 8.05"" (length) x 0.97"" (width) x 0.97"" (height) 3.1.3 Electrical Connections: None Technical POC: Heather Schaefer Program Engineer, Expendable Countermeasures AFLCMC/EBHCC 801-775-6086 Heather.Schaefer.1@us.af.mil
