- Description
- This project will require the contractor to provide a design of storm water management measures approved by Maryland Department of Environment, a Demolition/Deconstruction Plan and a layout of a parking plan that maximizes the usage of the property (minimum 400 spaces). The work will include site restoration after demolition to match existing adjacent conditions. NMIC 2 Garage has an area of approximately 345,000 square feet, it has three levels with both straight and curved sections. The top level has been determined to be unsafe for parking vehicles and therefore closed off. Vehicular entrances are from both the first and second levels. There are five external stair towers, three on the north side and two on the south side, and two pedestrian bridges connecting the garage second level to the main building. NMIC Garage is bordered by the mechanical building on the west (with 2 inch separation), the road and retaining wall on the south side, a high slope grass area on the north side, and loading dock and drive way on the east side. The total area of disturbance is approximately 120,000 square feet. The garage constructed in 1992/3 of cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete, has been modified/repaired using steel columns, anchor supports, and posts. Prior to start of any work the ECATTS trained contractor is required to inspect the work area with the designer of record and government representative to address existing potentially hazardous components as part of the work. The contractor is required to provide a list of hazardous components, locations and quantities that must be addressed as part of the work. All waste materials shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be transported, disposed of or recycled in accordance with applicable laws and regulation. Please see the provided Scope of Work (SOW) for more details.
