THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) OR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS FOR ACQUISITION PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION OR ULTIMATELY AWARD A CONTRACT. ANY COST INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT SHALL BE BORNE BY THE INTERESTED PARTY (PROSPECTIVE OFFEROR) AND WILL NOT BE CHARGED TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT. RESPONDENTS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF ANY GOVERNMENT ASSESSMENTS. PURPOSE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District is conducting this Sources Sought in support of Market Research to notify and seek potential qualified members of industry to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualification, to include the Small Business Community for repair and maintenance services for 13 metal fabrication machines, which include manual milling machines, manual lathes, and one CNC plate roller located at Ensley Engineering Yard at 2915 Riverport Road, Memphis, TN 38109. All machines will need routine maintenance performed; e.g., changing oil, cleaning, etc., but some or all will also need repair maintenance performed; e.g., bearing replacement, gear replacement, clutch replacement, digital read-out replacement.� In addition to the maintenance we are asking the contractor to add digital read-outs to certain machines that are not currently equipped with them. The machines can be repaired on site at EEY or at the contractors preferred site. Final inspection and acceptance will be accomplished at Ensley Engineer Yard. Parts may be approved Original Equipment Manufacturer parts or compatible replacement parts. Below is a list of the manual milling/lathe and CNC plate roller machine manufacturers: Niles, Monarch, Axelson, Leblond, Wells, Bridgeport, LaGun, Cincinnati, Lucas, Gidding Lewis, and Piranha. Request:� The Memphis District is requesting information from industry to determine the optimal performance based contractual vehicle and performance work statement for repair and maintenance of Ensley Engineer Yard metal fabrication machines.�� NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. GENERAL INFORMATION: The proposed project will be a Firm Fixed Price contract. North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this acquisition is 333517, Machine Tool Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standard in number of employees for this acquisition is 500. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), www.sam.gov. REQUESTED INFORMATION: Respondents interested in providing a response to this Sources Sought should submit information which clearly describes the following: Vendor�s name, address, points of contact with telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. DUNS number and CAGE code. Business size/classification to include any designations as Small Business, HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, or 8(a) shall be indicated on first page of submission. A Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, and knowledge required to perform the specified type of work. This SOC should be a brief description of your company's capabilities. Include a statement detailing any special qualifications and certifications, applicable to the scope of this project, held by your firm and/or in-house personnel. The potential bidders should provide brief references of relevant work they have performed and the magnitude. Describe any recent contracts or experience within the previous 24 months that are similar to this requirement. Demonstrate capabilities to repair and maintain metal fabrication machines; i.e., manual milling/lathe and CNC plate roller machines. Identify if the vendor is an authorized service representative of any of the original equipment manufacturers: Niles, Monarch, Axelson, Leblond, Wells, Bridgeport, LaGun, Cincinnati, Lucas, Gidding Lewis, and Piranha. Comments or recommendation to the project description. Please provide if any. Please indicate whether your firm will submit an offer for this project, if this project is set-aside.
