Description
SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the C-5 Galaxy aircraft Main Landing Gear, actuators listed below: 1680-01-213-3841UC - MLG Actuator 1680-01-213-3842UC - MLG Actuator ITEM DESCRIPTION The subject actuator is used on the C-5 Galaxy aircraft which is a military transport aircraft.� These items are main landing gear and door actuators that are utilized to open the main landing gear doors on the C-5 aircraft. �There are four each of each version NSN used per aircraft. These are non-critical application items but are still required in the weapon system�s performance and operation.� IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Triumph Gear Systems, Inc. (CAGE 82402), which maintains proprietary manufacturing data for these items.� The Government does not own a complete manufacturing data package to release to potential vendors in support of this requirement. As a result, Triumph Gear Systems, Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the actuator�s performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce the item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.� INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Triumph Gear Systems Inc. for the production of the subject actuators in support of the C-5 Galaxy aircraft.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 22�May 2020 to Robert Berg, e-mail address: robert.berg.9@us.af.mil. �The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
