Description
Purpose of Announcement: This is a market survey for vendors who are interested and capable of providing RF Power Calibrators/Power Monitors (RFPC) for the FAAs Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) for System Calibration. The RFPC samples RF energy in the Microwave Assembly of the Transmitter and converts it into a DC voltage level representing the RF average power from a calibrated device. The function is to determine the average power output of the Transmitter. The RFPC was originally manufactured by NARDA (East) as a custom device and built to Raytheon SCD G432183. The OEM, L3 Harris NARDA-MITEQ, discontinued the product line several years ago and the FAAhas depleted most of its inventory of spares; having consumed an estimated 2 per year over the last 8 years. To support of TDWR Program, at the current rate of consumption over the next 8 years, would require an estimated 16 new devices. The FAAhas an interest in procuring this device. Whether the device can be manufactured or a qualifying Form-Fit-Function replacement identified, the FAAis open to any suitable options. The original Raytheon specification and an image of the part are attached to this announcement. Any Industrial Standards or Specifications meeting or exceeding the Mil Specs identified in the SCD are acceptable. Applicable NAICS Codes: 334515 - Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals 334220 - Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications 334419 - Other Electronic Component Manufacturing NSN: 6625-01-3637140 NSN Description: CALIBRATOR,FREQUENCY Common Description: RF POWER CALIBRATOR Raytheon Delivered Part Number: G432183-1 Last Supplier: NARDA OEM Part Number: 70031 Estimated Forecast Demand: 8 per year The responses to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only. This is not a screening information request or request for proposal of any kind. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to the market survey. Therefore any cost associated with the market survey submission is solely at the interested vendors expense. The purpose of this market survey is to solicit statements of interest, capabilities, and rough orders of magnitude (cost estimates) frombusinesses interested in and capable of providing the RF Power Calibrators/Power Monitors. Each vendor should include the following information along with their submission: 1. Capability Statement - This document should identify: - Type of supplies and support services that are provided by your firm - Past projects of similar complexity to the requirements listed in the announcement 2. CAGE code, DUNS number and Business size/classification 3.Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) or budgetary estimate for the items as described in the annoouncement and attachments. All responses to this postingmust be received by 8:00 a.m. Central Time (Oklahoma Time) on Friday June 5, 2020. At this time, all submittals, including attachments, need to be submitted to the Contracting Officer, Abby Schultzvia email atabigael.k.schultz@faa.gov Please include ""MarketSurveyResponse: TDWR in the subject line of your email.
