The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The intent of this notice is to determine the availability of contractors/manufacturers that can provide the following: An Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine, with the following salient features: MANUFACTURED BY A SMALL BUSINESS On-site, Commercial training offered on the operation, programming and general maintenance of the machine Buy American Act Compliant The waterjet abrasive cutting machine shall be new (not a prototype) and one of the manufacturer's standard current production models capable of operations in accordance with the requirements herein. The machine shall be complete, so that when connected to the utilities identified herein, it can be used for any function for which it is designed and constructed. Designs with separate catcher tank (independent of cutting unit) will not be allowed. The abrasive waterjet cutting machine shall be constructed of parts which are new, without defects, and free of repairs. The cutting axes and tank shall be one unit to guarantee the cutting accuracy listed herein. The machine structure shall be capable of withstanding all forces encountered during operation of the machine at its maximum rating and capacity without distortion. Processes such as welding, plugging, or filling with solder or paste shall not be used for reclaiming any defective part(s). All screws, pins, bolts, and other fasteners shall be installed in a manner as to prevent change of tightness. The abrasive waterjet cutting machine shall consist of, but not limited to, the following described principle components, attachments, and accessories necessary to meet the operational and performance requirements specified herein. Table: The machine footprint shall be 10'11"" x 7'11"" and provide a working envelope capable of housing a 6'8"" x 5'5"" piece of material. The bed shall have means for leveling the machine on a flat mounting surface. The system must be of unitized design to eliminate misalignment due to an operator bumping either the cutting head or table during material loading. The table must be capable of supporting 400 pounds per square foot of load. Water Level Control: Contains in-tank pneumatic system allowing for water level adjust of up to 3"". Axis (X and Y): The X and Y axis shall be controlled by closed loop, digital drive motors that requires no periodic tuning. The y-axis shall have full travel and a motor controlled, precision Z-axis. Computer Control System (CCS): The system shall be provided with a fully automatic, solid-state, integrated circuit, 64-bit, multiple microprocessor based-type personal computer integrated with CAD/CAM software and 17 inch color LCD flat panel display. The unit shall provide for 3-axis simultaneous contouring capabilities and automatic control for all machine functions. Software: Software shall run on Windows 10 and be specifically designed for all abrasive jet and waterjet machining functions. Software: Software must include 25 seats. Upgrades to software must be provided when available for all 25 seats. Pump System: The pump shall be a direct drive crankshaft type pump with variable frequency drive controller, capable of obtaining and maintaining the designed operating pressure, 60,000 psi, without the use of hydraulic assistance. Electrical System: The machine shall be designed to operate from a single 460 volt (3%), 3 phase, 60-hertz (Hz) (1 hertz) power source. Cutting Head: One-piece nozzle body with integrated diamond orifice warranted to last at least 500 hours. The sizes and capacities of the machining center shall meet the minimum requirements: X-Y Travel: 3'11"" x 3'9"" Table size (WxL): 6'8"" x 5'5"" Footprint: 10'11"" x 7'11"" Operating Weight: 13,000 lbs Maximum Material Load: 400 lbs/sq. ft. The machining center shall conform to the following accuracies/alignments: Positioning: X, Y, and Z Linear axes: +/- 0.001"" Repeatability: X, Y, and Z Linear axes: +/- 0.001"" Potential offerors having the capabilities necessary to meet the needs of the described requirement are invited to provide a capabilities statement via e-mail. The statement shall include the following: 1)Company name and point of contact information 2)DUNS number 3)Business size/certifications, if applicable (WOSB, 8(a), SDVOSB, HUBZone, etc.) 4)Name and address of the waterjet cutting machine small business manufacturer Responses are due no later than 5:00 PM PT, Monday, May 15, 2020, and shall be submitted to Paula Collins at pcollins@usbr.gov.
