Description

This notice is being completed to meet requirement for Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1). The 47th Contracting Flight at Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB) located in Del Rio, TX is considering a requirement to purchase eight (8) T-6 Mixed Reality Devices.� The requirement includes a Chair/Platform/Chassis, Stick and Throttle (HOTAS), Rudder Control, Front-Facing Cameras, Virtual Reality (VR) Headset, VR-capable Computer (Hardware only).� Currently, Laughlin AFB has a service contract (FA3099-19-P-A009) that was awarded on competitive procedures utilizing FAR part 13 for a lease of said equipment with SimiGon, Inc. for eight (8) T-6 Mixed Reality Devices.� In the interest of economy and efficiency, the 47th Contracting Flight at Laughlin AFB is considering a sole-source award to SimiGon, Inc. due to stations are already configured and in place in order to meet mission requirements�to support the 47th FTW.� If purchase is not completed via a sole-source a considerable amount of time would need to be programmed in order to assemble the hardware which may cause mission disruption.� Additionally, since stations are already in place there will be no risk of COVID-19 exposure. As a result, these 8 VR simulators will be purchased via sole source as a small business concern to Simigon, Inc.� IF/when Laughlin AFB procures additional simulators, additional simulators will be procured either by competitive basis or through Innovation"" Hardware Blanket Ordering Agreement (BPA).� This proposed acquisition is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 333318 with a size standard of 1,000 employees.
