Description
The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277 sec 347. This project is being advertised for full and open competition. This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The Longshanks Project is located on the Georgetown Ranger District, Eldorado National Forest and is within the footprint of the King Fire which occurred in the fall of 2014. The project area of approximately 3,746 acers includes six mandatory contract items and three optional contract items. The treatments include but are not limited to Cutting and Machine Piling, Grapple Piling, and Skidding Decking and Removal of Biomass. The project includes removal of approximately 5,000 tons of biomass product and road maintenance. The objectives for this project are as follows: 1. Post fire site preparation for the establishment of conifer forests after a stand replacing wildfire; 2. Reduction of greenhouse gases by the removal of and payment for 5,000 tons of biomass material to a cogeneration processing facility. Project Location - The Longshanks IRSC Stewardship Contract Area is located in T. 13 N., R. 13 E., Sections 1, 2, 10-15, 20-23 and 26-33; T. 13 N., R. 14 E., Section 6; T. 14 N., R. 13 E., Section 36; T. 13 N., R. 14 E., Section 31; MDB&M. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation. The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date. A prebid meeting on site will not be possible, please see the posted site visit cancelation document.
