In summary, Amendment 0001: 1.� Revises the response due date of the original solicitation�from May 5, 2020 to May 19, 2020. 2.� Provides FAA responses to the questions submitted by industry (ref. pages 2 - 7 of the SIR Amendment 0001 document). 3. In response to the questions, sections of the solicitation have been revised. The revised solicitation is provided and supersedes the original. For industry's benefit, the FAA is providing the document titled ""Changes Identified 693KA8-20-0428""; this document, which includes the final updated solicitation, ent. (ref. pages 8 - 64 of the SIR Amendment 0001 document). --------------- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issues this Screening Information Request (SIR) Number 693KA8-20-R-00006, COTS VoIP VCS, for the procurement of small Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)-based Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Air Traffic Control Voice Communications Systems (VCSs), and supporting services, as detailed in the attached. The FAA requires small Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)-based Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Air Traffic Control Voice Communications Systems (VCSs) and supporting services. The FAA anticipates up to seven (7) contract awards resulting from this solicitation; quantity of one (1) VCS per award. The FAA will use the COTS VCS to conduct market research for future VoICE VCS acquisitions. The FAA will not use the COTS VCS to test or otherwise certify the ability of the vendors� COTS product to meet current FAA requirements and will not use this activity as a down-select for future VoICE acquisitions.� The FAA is interested in COTS products that have been deployed and used for Air traffic control.� The FAA is not interested in prototype systems or software. This is a request for proposal and submissions must be submitted in accordance with the SIR. This procurement is considered a noncomplex requirement and will be procured through a simplified purchase method (Acquisition Management System (AMS) Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.5, Commercial and/or Simplified Purchase Method. Offerors must submit all questions concerning this SIR to the Contracting Officer via email no later than April 14, 2020, 5:00pm ET. All responses to the questions will be made in writing and included in an amendment to the SIR. For informational purposes, this procurement is one (1) of the NAS VoICE Acquisition and Market Research Activities referenced in Notice Id #693KA8-20-RFI-VoICE-2, National Airspace System VoICE Notice #2 (notice link: 693KA8-20-RFI-VoICE-2) . Please note the FAR references cited in beta.SAM are not applicable to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as the FAA has its own policies and guidance referenced in the Acquisition Management System (AMS).
