- Description
- DESCRIPTION: The National Institutes of Health - NICHD intends to procure the services of a contractor to provide Total Seq Tm-B Human TBNK Cocktail - TotalSeqTM-B TBNK panel: Barcoded antibodies for CITE-Seq and other scRNAseq applications as per attached Justification. This proposed procurement is for a service for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis to Biolegend located in San Diego, CA 92121. In order to comply with the requirements in this Solicitation/Special Note, the responses should be based on our interpretation of the general requirements provided below. Special Note: The proposed contract action is for a continuation of previous services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within the time and date of publication of this ""Special Note 22"" will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. HOW TO RESPOND: In order to compete for this project, interested parties must be registered in the Central Contracting Registration and submit a price quotation by 11:59 am, ET, May 15th 2020. Offerors should submit one copy of the quote to MOE FILALI via email. Electronic transmissions to Moe.Filali@nih.gov are preferable but must be timely. It is the responsibility of the Offeror to ensure the proposal is received by the date and time shown above. Sole Source Justification for BioLegend TotalSeq Reagent The Maternal-Fetal Immunobiology Unit of the Perinatology Research Branch (PRB), NICHD/NIH/DHHS, focuses on understanding the molecular immunological and biological mechanisms of diseases responsible for the Great Obstetrical Syndromes. For this purpose, the Units investigators are required to study the functions of immune cells at the maternal-fetal interface. Advanced molecular techniques have been developed that allow for the determination of protein expression at the single-cell level in addition to the measurement of RNA. This technique has been termed TotalSeq. This technology integrates previously established single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) methods with antibody-based tagging of specific proteins in order to evaluate cellular functions at the RNA and protein levels, with the possibility of detecting up to hundreds of different proteins in a single cell. In order to apply this technology to the Units research, specialized oligo-tagged antibody cocktails are required. BioLegend offers the purchase of the specific antibody cocktails utilized for TotalSeq to allow in-house integration of TotalSeq methods into the Units current scRNAseq protocols. This reagent contains antibodies against specific immune cell markers that are of great interest to the Units ongoing research program. BioLegend offers cocktails that are compatible with a variety of different scRNAseq platforms. Thus, we are submitting a sole source request for the purchase of the TotalSeq Human TNBK antibody cocktail from BioLegend.
