- INDUSTRY DAY NOTIFICATION (9:00am � June 27th, 2019 � Mobile, AL) Mississippi Coastal Improvements Program (MsCIP), Comprehensive Barrier Island Restoration Plan - Ship Island Phases 3 & 4, Harrison Co., MS The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, will be conducting an industry day to inform contractors of the final implementation plan for Ship Island Phases 3 & 4 of the MsCIP Comprehensive Barrier Island Restoration Plan. The scope of work for Phases 3 & 4 consists of the placement of approximately 2.3 million cubic yards of sand along the southern shoreline of the eastern end of Ship Island (Phase 3) and approximately 1.2 million cubic yards of sand along the northern shoreline of Ship Island in the area formerly known as Camille Cut (Phase 4). The borrow areas for the Phase 3 effort are located in Ship Island Pass (i.e., in the old Gulfport Navigation Channel) and in the Gulf of Mexico south of Petit Bois Island. The Phase 4 borrow site is located approximately 2.5 miles south of Ship Island in the Gulf of Mexico. The draft contract plans and specifications are provided as enclosures for additional project information. The industry day event will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at 9:00 CDT in Room 2023 of the Mobile District Office (109 Saint Joseph Street, Mobile, AL 36602). The meeting will consist of a general session with a presentation on the project development, project status, and project schedule followed by an open discussion/feedback period (this session should last no more than one hour). Additionally, individual 30 minute break out sessions will be held, at the request of the contractor, after the general session is over. Contractor comments and suggestions are strongly encouraged. All participants should arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of the start of the event to check in through security. You will be required to present a photo ID. The contract will be a ""C"" type Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation and it is scheduled for advertisement in mid-July 2019. Contract award is tentatively scheduled for mid-August 2019 with a period of performance of 12 months.
