- Description:� The United States Army Contracting Command - New Jersey on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (OPM-MAS) is issuing this Request for Information in order to solicit industry feedback on recommendations and suggestions regarding the updating, standardizing, and drafting of revisions to chemical specifications primarily used in munitions. These new/revised/updated specifications would seek to provide the following: Validate & update existing methods and requirements Incorporate new analytical methodology using state of the art equipment Eliminate, update, or replace methods currently in the specifications due to incorrect or outdated procedures � Other items of concern on which constructive comments or recommendations are desired include: Use of toxic and environmentally undesirable materials Vagueness in how and what to measure that may lead to differing results on the same sample Reference to no longer valid standards Standardization of alternate methods between specifications to measure the same property. � To assist in this effort the Government is initially seeking industry's comments on each of the three listed military specifications which are currently being assessed for updating. Material / Specification Acetyl Triethyl Citrate/MIL-A-47059 Ethyl Centralite (Carbamite)/MIL-E-255 Graphite, Dry (for use in ammunition)/MIL-DTL-155 Current revisions of these specifications can be obtained at: https://quicksearch.dla.mil/qsSearch.aspx Submission of suggestions, recommendations, and comments regarding any or all of the specifications may be provided. �In your response, please also indicate: Contractor's role in using the current specification(s) (manufacture or consumer) along with general quantities of material manufactured/consumed and commodities the material is utilized in. Interest in participating in validation testing of verification methods within specifications along with any salient capabilities. � To further facilitate industry participation in the revision of the specifications an Industry Day will held.� Tentative date is July 15, 2020.� Participation at the meeting may be in person at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ or via a Virtual Industry Day.� A firm date for the event will be provided approximately one month prior to the Industry Day.� This special notice is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. No award will be made as a result of this request for information. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this request. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this request for information.
