Description
Smithville Dam is a USACE project located on the Platte River, in Clay County, Missouri. The Government is seeking sources forwork that involves developing the plans, specifications, and a design documentation report for adding manholes to the left and right side of the stilling basin for wall drain inspection and removing and replacing the perforated wall drain behind both the left and right stilling basin walls. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Questions: 1. Does your company/employees have hands on experience installing a 12"" perforated drain liner? Experience installing typical grouted in place liners is not adequate due to this pipe will not be grouted to allow water to enter the drain. If your company will be sub-contracting out lining the existing pipe with a perforated pipe, the proof of the sub-contractor's experience lining a pipe with perforated pipe is required as part of the bid package. 2. Do you have equipment that will be onsite or within the Kansas City area that can be mobilized with 24-72 hours to backfill the excavated area behind the stilling basin walls if the need arises? I.E. Local flood waters rise or we have to make releases. If the answer is no, how would your company guarantee the issue of needing equipment to backfill within a short time frame? 3. This project involves extending a concrete manhole by using precast or cast-in-place concrete. What is your experience with this type of work? 4. What is your experience with installing rebar and post installed rebar? If you don't have the experience, can you hire a sub with at least 10 years of experience to complete the work? 5. What is your experience core drilling concrete? A 15"" core hole will have to be drilled through the existing 4'-3"" wall(s) and the hole must be exactly perpendicular to the wall face. If not, name a sub-contractor you will be using to do this work and their experience and qualifications. 6. Have you ever completed a project for USACE, if so what were they (name and location) and provide POC's for references? Interested contractors should submit thier Capabilities Satatement, SAM Registration, and socioecononoic status, and responses to questions via email to joshua.m.higginbotham@usace.army.mil. The subject line of the email shall be formated as follows, W912DQ20B1039 - Sources Sought -""Company Name""
