Description

UPDATE: The need delivery by date has been modified to 20 weeks from the date of the award. Please see the updated attached statement of need for more detail. This is a request for one Palfinger�marine boom crane. This solicitation is being issued as a full and open competition. The associated NAICS code is 333923.� The small business size standard is 1250 Employees. This is�for 1 Palfinger Marine Crane. Heavy equipment and evidence is routinely removed or loaded on to the vessel with the crane. The crane required specifications are: Must be made for a marine environment Cable stainless steel and rigging etc. Lift at least 1,500 lbs at 20 feet extension (horizontal distance from crane to hook) Have a winch allowing picks to come straight up and not having to boom up Be able to rotate 270 degrees Be electric over hydraulic (240 volt cables to the area are present) Come with a pedestal and tank, motor etc. Have a weather cover for the valve bank BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION: This particular brand name is essential to the requirement and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. Palfinger provides a compact marine crane with simple options to complete the specifications AKD Ketchikan needs. The crane being requesting has a similar footprint and would be fairly easily made to fit the location of the older existing crane. Also, many nearby companies utilize this same brand for their crane needs, which shows the popularity and great versatility of this brand, making it an easy choice for purchase.
