- Description
- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTE; THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 20, in support of VA Portland Healthcare System, is currently requesting information in order to determine the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing an electrode puller that can produce quartz glass electrodes. The Sutter P-2000 has heating and other mechanistic components that are optimal to produce electrodes of a suitable quality for our customer s experiments. This is critical to maintain scientific continuity as this research study has conducted hundreds of experiments and compiled a significant library of baseline data. This specific puller has been tested and can produce quartz electrodes that reduce the current clamp error arising from tiny capacitance error during small nerve terminal recordings. This will further their research and future ability. Brand name or equal to P-200 Glass Puller from Sutter Instrument. The intended contract period of performance is FY 2020. The NAICS code assigned is: 334510, electromedical and electrotherapeutic apparatus manufacturing. The small business size standard is 1,250 employees. The Government is not soliciting offers at this time, and it will be the Contracting Officer who will determine which suggested changes are accepted.
