- Description
- The following represents the Notice of Intent that will be posted on beta.sam.gov. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to negotiate solely with Sakura Finetek, U.S.A., Inc., 1750 West 214th Street, Torrance, CA 90501 to obtain equipment maintenance services for the Eastern Lab listed below. The equipment is sole proprietary to Sakura Finetek, U.S.A., Inc. and is the only known source which can provide the required services to the current requirements. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements Citation: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The period of performance will be for a 12- month base period plus 4 option years. This covers Sakura equipment located in the Pathology Section of the Eastern Lab located at USDA, FSIS, OPHS, Eastern Laboratory, Richard B. Russell Research Center (RRC), 950 College Station Road, Athens, GA 30605. Equipment to be covered: 6030 Tissue Tek VIP 6;�Serial Number 6030-0399-0510 6030 Tissue Tek VIP 6 ;�Serial Number 6030-0985-0313 6500 Tissue Tek Glas g2Coverslipper;�Serial Number 65000290-0214 8030 Autowrite Cassette Printer with unload station ;�Serial Number: 8030-0187 8031 Autowrite Slide Printer with unload station;�Serial Number: 8031-0217 6130 Tissue Tek Prisma Stainer;�Serial Number: 62301003-0114 The contracted work shall be done by a factory (Sakura Finetek) trained representative with current/updated training. Preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs shall be in accordance with Sakura�s recommendations for each piece of equipment. The contractor shall furnish all replacement parts, labor and travel to perform one (1) PM service per instrument and unlimited emergency visits for the equipment listed above per contract period. The contractor shall pay charges to ship replacement parts or repaired equipment to the customer. The contractor shall also pay shipping charges for the return of equipment to the contractor. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of this solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond within five (5) calendar days from the date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm's capability to provide the proprietary services. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to announcement #123A9420R0013. If no viable responses have been received in response after Monday, April 20, 2020, 5:00 pm E.S.T to this announcement, USDA/FSIS shall negotiate solely with Sakura Finetek, U.S.A., Inc.
