- Description
- Joint Directed Energy Transition Office (DE JTO) is interested in understanding industry capabilities on Ultra-sensitive Fastframing LADAR Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) Cameras. Current state-of-the-art SWIR cameras are not capable of effective operation at the extended ranges and in the difficult atmospheres that are becoming critical to High Energy Laser (HEL) operation, nor are they capable of providing three-dimensional point cloud data on the target that is vital for enhanced target tracking. Thus, improvements in camera technology and capability are required. The objective of this RFI is to gather information to help DE JTO determine industry capabilities with respect to existing ultra-sensitive fastframing LADAR SWIR cameras or the fabrication of new very low noise SWIR avalanche photodiode (APD) based cameras. The objective is to integrate and use this camera in the DE JTO Advanced Beam Control for Locating and Engagement (ABLE) program Optical Test Bed (OTB). Performance objectives and response guidelines are set forth in the attached.
