- Request for Information The Department of Energy is performing market research to identify firms that have an interest in bidding on the attached ""Independent Network Assessment"" requirement. There is no solicitation being issued at this time. No contract vehicle will be awarded from this sources sought notice (SSN). No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and/or any follow-up requests. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition. The results of the market research will also determine whether this requirement is competed using Federal Supply Schedules (FAR 8.4) or Open Market. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged. I. Background The Department of Energy (DOE) is a $33+ billion Federal enterprise that is comprised of 97 entities � spread across 27 states � divided among 10 Program Offices, 19 Staff Offices, 4 Power Marketing Administrations, 19 Field Sites, 17 National Laboratories, and 4 Technology Centers�each uniquely structured to perform our distinct mission. This mission spans a diverse range of portfolios to include nuclear security, open science research, power administration, and environmental management. The DOE Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) operates the DOEnet corporate business network (WAN) connecting multiple DOE locations as well as providing LAN services at multiple sites. DOE OCIO completed extensive, multi-year network lifecycle refresh projects in FY 2019, which included technology refresh of ~80% of the DOEnet infrastructure and upgrades of the fiber cable plant at the Headquarters (HQ), Germantown (GTN), Forrestal (FORS), and several smaller commercial buildings in the National Capital Region (NCR). II. Requirement The Office of the Chief Information Officer has a requirement for an ""Independent Network Assessment"" as described in the draft Statement of Work. III. Proposed Awards and Administration NAICS Code and Size Standard The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541519, ""Other Computer Related Services"". The U.S. Small Business Administration�s (SBA�s) size standard for NAICS 541519 is $30 Million. Proposed Contract Type; The Government anticipates awarding a single fixed price award for this requirement.
