Description
PURPOSE: The purpose of this notice is to obtain information and identify potential sources as part of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division's (EAD) market research for a future requirement for lubricating oil for the Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) system and to determine if there are vendors that may meet the Government's need as further detailed below.� REQUIRED ITEM(S): The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking to identify sources capable of providing the following:� SYNTHETIC LUBRICATING OIL, NEUTRAL COLOR, 75 WEIGHT, 5-GALLON CONTAINER FOR WSR-88D NEXRAD RADAR PEDESTAL ASN: R400-014-O-20 NSN: 9150-01-418-8738 AMERICAN LUBRICANTS P/N: SHC 75W MOBIL P/N: SHC 624 Oil is required to be packaged in 5-gallon cans, leak proof, using the LAB SAFETY 5-GAL CAN P/N: 123794N, INMARK P/N: PP075GN70V with screwcap P/N: DA03FS70. NWS CERTIFICATION -�FORM, FIT, AND FUNCTION MATCH: Interested vendors should note the NWS' Radar Operations Center (ROC) has to approve any item being integrated into the NEXRAD system, including the requested item(s) listed above. During NEXRAD Dual Pol capability development, the referenced oil was qualified as being acceptable. The ROC has determined through testing the referenced oil is functionally compatible with the pedestal hardware on the NEXRAD system and that use of other lubricants is detrimental to the system's�operational life. Any oil supplied to the NWS must be form, fit, and function identical to the referenced oil.� REQUESTED INFORMATION: All documentation must be submitted via email by the specified date and time to alex.williams@noaa.gov. Interested vendors shall provide the following information with their response: Company name, address, CAGE Code, and DUNS number Company point of contact, email address, and telephone number Small business and/or socioeconomic status under the listed NAICS. If your company is a large business under the listed NAICS, please state this.� Capabilities statement (or other proof) demonstrating your company's ability to provide the requested item(s) Information demonstrating capability to provide oil that matches form, fit, and function the referenced oil. Interested vendors shall provide proof from the NWS (or other documentation) that the oil they can provide has been approved by the ROC for use in the NEXRAD system Provide any other information not specifically mentioned in this RFI that your company feels would be beneficial to the Government.� MARKET RESEARCH ONLY: The Government may use the responses to this notice for market research, information, and planning purposes only. Responses to this RFI are not quotes on which NOAA can issue any order(s) or Contract based only on responses to this RFI. All information received in response to this RFI marked ""Proprietary"" will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. NOAA will not pay for information received in response to this RFI. There is no commitment by the Government to issue an RFQ, make award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this RFI. INQUIRIES: Interested vendors shall submit all questions concerning this RFI via email to alex.williams@noaa.gov. Any responses to questions will be made in writing, without identification of the questioner, and will be included in an amendment to the RFI.�
