Description
This notice is posted in accordance with FAR Part 5.2 and 36.213-2 This RESTRICTED ACQUISITION is set aside 100% for Women Owned Small Business. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 238160 with a size standard of $16.5M. In accordance with FAR Part 4.1102 and DFARS 252.204-7004, Alternate A, System for Award Management (SAM), contractor must be registered in SAM prior to award. Offerors may obtain information on registration at https://www.sam.gov. The objective of this project is to Repair Hangar 40 Roof; Project Number TYMX203906, JBSA-Randolph, TX. General Scope of Work: The current Hangar 40 roof is a modified bitumen system. On the straight run roof areas, which vary in size and slope, the roof system is installed horizontally (rolls running perpendicular to the slope of the roof, shingle lapped from bottom to top). On the main roof, which is curved, the system is installed vertically nearly to the apex. Vertically installed Mod-Bit systems are not well known for their performance then run parallel to the roof slope especially at higher slopes. Judging by the granule loss of the red colored cap sheet, this roof is far past it's effective life cycle. Reroofing this large building will be a design challenge due to the extreme slope changes at the bases of the curved roof areas, and the volume of water making that change. The primary structure of the building currently appears to be stable and intact. Contractor shall assume 100% replacement of underlayment required. The 502D Contracting Squadron, JBSA-Randolph, TX intends to award a contract with a 280 calendar day period of performance. The estimated magnitude of the entire contract is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Note: The above description of work is for the purpose of general information only and is not intended to include and describe every feature or item of work or to define the scope of work. THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION SYNOPSIS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Any subsequent RFP will be made available electronically via the BetaSAM website (https://www.beta.sam.gov), under Contracting Oppurtunities, on or about 15 April 2020. Offerors are responsible for routinely checking the BetaSAM website for any possible solicitation amendments that may be issued. This notice does not commit the Government to award a contract. No collect calls or facsimile transmissions will be accepted. Any costs incurred as a result of a response to this announcement shall be borne by the firm and will not be charged to the Government for reimbursement.
