Description

In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures. The FAA intends to award a single-source purchase order to MTS Systems Corporation of Eden Prairie, MN. This procurement is for Structures and Materials Lab Test Equipment at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC). The FAA anticipates delivery within six (6) months from date of award. The intent of this order is to outfit the Structures and Material Lab with the equipment needed to create an integrated system of test capabilities ranging from small coupons to large-scale aircraft structural components. The interface of non-MTS systems would require the purchase of a software license and components at an additional cost with no guarantee of data synchronization. Additionally, purchasing third party software licenses will incur unacceptable delays since compatibility is uncertain.
