- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to American Public Health Association, Inc. to access a supplemental issue of the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH). This supplement will provide a wide audience with a resource that will offer information about academic and community collaborations in practice and the challenges the YVPC sites have experienced. Additionally, the supplement offers opinions from leaders in the youth violence field about the direction of community-level work. This is important because community-level violence prevention strategies have the potential to have broad and cost-effective impact but pose unique challenges. The timing of the supplement is also important because it will be published this year and the 2020 American Public Health Association (APHA) conference theme is Creating the Healthiest Nation: Preventing Violence. The conference and supplement will prime interest in each other and offer an opportunity for the YVPCs to have an impactful presence at the conference. By capitalizing on the momentum of the conference, the uptake and impact of the supplement is expected to be large. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qaq5@cdc.gov by 12:00 pm on April 9, 2020.
