Description
Sources Sought W81K00-20-Q-0070 This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought notice for the Regional Contracting Office - Central. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research to determine if possible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112, Surgical & Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Small Business size standard is 1,000. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Regional Health Contracting Office - Central, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, is seeking potential sources to provide a OsteoCool RF Generator System/Tumor Ablation Generator.� All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency before the intended award date. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately making information if it is proprietary in nature. In order for the Government to consider another source, the capability statement must identify the source's ability to meet ALL the following requirements: Must be Intended for palliative treatment in spinal procedures by ablation of metastatic malignant lesions in a vertebral body Must process Coagulation and ablation of tissue in bone during surgical procedures including palliation of pain associated with metastatic lesions involving bone in patients who have failed or are not candidates for standard therapy Must create large volume lesions without excessive heating at the active tip Must minimize potential for char with internally cooled ablation probe e .������� Thermocouple monitors must monitor tissue temperature around the distal tip of the probe Must simultaneous provide ablation of adjacent or multiple levels in the spine Must simultaneous provide ablation using two probes, such as bipedicular spine tumor ablation Must be able to ablation using one probe Must recognition of probe size and automatically presets ablation time Must track temperature and power output to reduce risk of thermal damage to adjacent structures Must generate power levels specific to bone lesion sizes Must monitor impedance and automatically pauses ablation before charring can occur Must automatically halt RF energy delivery once ablation time is complete Must use two probes at the same time. Must indicate, use same bone access for subsequent physician-directed procedure such as cementoplasty Must circulate water to moderate temperature in close proximity to the active tip Contractors responding to this sources sought notice are advised their response does not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The Government will not reimburse any company or individual for any expense associated with preparation or participation in this research.
