Leica Compact Surgical Microscope M525 F20 RFI NUMBER 36A77620Q0084 This acquisition is in support of the VA Sierra Pacific Network, VA Palo Alto for a new research vivarium currently under construction at the Palo Alto campus. The VA Palo Alto Health Care System in need of a Leica Compact Surgical Microscope M525 F20. This item can only be procured from Lecia Microsystems Inc and will be the sole source vendor. The Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC), National Activations Office (NAO) intends to issue a brand name solicitation to Lecia Microsystems Inc requesting Leica Compact Surgical Microscope M525 F20. This procurement is for a Sole Source (Brand Name) Justification in accordance with FAR 13.501(a), where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The NAICS code for this procurement is 339112 and the Small Business Administration Size Standard is 1,000 employees. This procurement is also being conducted in accordance with procedures in FAR subpart 13.5 under the authority for other than full and open competition FAR 13.106-1(b) soliciting from a single source. If vendors believe they have the technical capability to meet this need, submit a complete technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. Vendors who are not registered in System For Award Management (SAM) database prior to award will not be considered. Vendors may register with SAM by going on via the web to https://www.sam.gov. Responses must be received 4/1/2020, by 11:59 pm, Eastern Standard Time. Responses should be submitted electronically to heather.allen3@va.gov and robert.blasko@va.gov This notice of intent to is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirements may submit a quotation with manufacturer cut sheets, which may be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
