- THIS IS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES.� THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS AND DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT NOW OR IN THE FUTURE. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE to determine interest, availability and socioeconomic status (Small Businesses - 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, HUBZone, Women-Owned, etc.) �of companies for a dust collection machine in Building 301 at the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD.� The government is seeking small businesses under NAICS code 333413 - Industrial and Commercial Fan and Blower and Air Purification Equipment Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to provide the supplies and services stated herein.� BACKGROUND The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland campus, has a requirement for an industrial, cartridge type, exterior located, wood-working vacuum dust collector.� The project will include demolishing the existing dust collector the installation of a new dust collection system. The current system is a 11,000 CFM dust collection system with existing in-floor duct.� The new system must be compatible with the existing ducting beneath the floor. System flow rate - for when the drum sander, planer and table saw are in simultaneous use, is calculated to be 1,700 cfm. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Title: Dust Collector Machine The requirement for replacing the NIST�s Construction Shop�s current dust collection machine shall include all labor, management, supervision, tools and materials to remove the current dust collector, assemblies and components including concrete pads, electrical circuits and interfaces, and replacing the damaged asphalt pad in the installation area. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: sizing of a cartridge type dust collector, full installation design, installation of mounting pads, new electric and control service, electro-mechanical interlock�s as required and complete installation of the new dust collector resulting in a fully functional system. NIST is interested in identifying organizations with: (1) Specialized experience in design and installation of cartridge type dust collectors. (2) Specialized experience with providing start to finish project management. (3) Proven experience or a relationship with a subcontractor with proven experience in all phases and trades involved in the installation of cartridge type dust collectors. VENDOR RESPONSES Interested, capable contractors shall submit a capability statement in response to this Sources Sought Notice.� Responses shall be limited to five (5) single-sided pages and shall include the following: Offeror�s name, address, points of contact with telephone numbers and email addresses. Business information to include DUNS Number, type/size of company, NAICS code, and Social Economic status (Large, SB, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, VOSB or SDVOSB) as validated via the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov and or www.beta.sam.gov . ��� Offerors interest in proposing on the solicitation when/if it is issued. Technical discussion of the Contractor�s ability to perform the specified type of work stated herein. Indication of whether the services described in this notice are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract(s) or Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) and, if so, the applicable contract number(s). Any other relevant information that is not listed above, which the Government should consider in finalizing its market research.
