Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotations incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-84 dated Nov 1, 2015. All responsible sources may submit proposals that will be considered by the agency. The contract will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. Past performance will be considered in the selection of the awarded vendor. The United States Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center has a requirement for the following: TECHNICAL SERVICES FOR CGC KIMBALL MAIN GAS TURBINE Background.� Routine OPS GT mode, clutched in at handle position 8 in ECR Control. When EOW increased to handle position 10. Within 20 seconds, MCMS alarmed with a Cooling Fan not running and detected a high temperature in the GT enclosure. The emergency shutdown activated, the high box temperature alarmed, the primary installed CO2 shot activated. SF trouble shot fire detection system due to enclosure temperature only reaching 210 F, far below the alarm automatic shutdown set points of 347 F (alarm) 400 F (Auto Shutdown). GT engine hours: 83. � Scope. The scope of this work is for the USCGC Kimball. Scope includes the removal of (2) 100lbs. CO2 cylinders, hydrostatically testing, refill and reinstall. Contractor will be responsible for the transport and delivery of CO2 bottles. � Objective. �The objective of this requirement is to have Main Gas Turbine returned to fully operational status. � Government furnished property.
