Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Fixed Price Purchase Order to Covidien Sales LLC � dba Given Imagin, 3555 Koger Boulevard, Suite 200, Duluth, GA on a sole source basis to procure an Emprint SX with 3D Navigation for hepatic ablation zones. �It is quantity of one with a 2-year warranty period.� The NIH Clinical Center needs to replace its outdated technology and obsolete ablation system (over 10 years old) with Microwave technology along with ultrasound guided 3D navigation for liver surgeries.� It is the only known product on the market with the below specifications: �Real-time ultrasound guided navigation, Thermosphere� technology (3 types of energy control, thermal,�� field and wavelength) and ablation zone predictive software.� Delivery is 6-8 weeks after receipt of order. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements in FAR Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Susan Nsangou, susan.nsangou@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
