- Description
- The United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is responsible for setting benefits and human resource policies government-wide and procuring and managing the contractual relationships with carriers for the various benefit programs. Interested applicants can find more information about OPM and the benefits we administer on www.opm.gov/insure. OPM oversees the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). FEDVIP is a voluntary, enrollee-pay-all dental and vision insurance program available to Federal employees, annuitants, certain retired uniformed service members and active duty family members. While OPM provides contractual and program oversight, the FEDVIP contractors are solely responsible for hiring, training and managing its employees, subcontractors, etc. FEDVIP was implemented in 2005, to provide comprehensive dental and vision insurance products to the Federal population. FEDVIP currently has over 6.5 million lives. We are seeking proposals that provide comprehensive, accessible and competitively priced dental and vision services for a variety of fully insured dental and vision plan designs. We will select up to twelve (12) dental and up to five (5) vision plans. We are limiting the number of contracts that will be awarded to support the viability of the Plans and integrity of the program. OPM will award contracts for one (1) base period of seven (7) years.
