- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Phenomenex, Inc. for Strata-X-AW Well Plates. This is a brand name only procurement. The strata solid phase extraction (SPE) and simplified liquid extracion (SLE) well plates provide clean extracts and high recoveries for targeted analytes of interest across all sample matrices. The technique offers versatility for a wide range of sample volumes and can be easily automated for high-throughput, and are performed by following quick and simple methods (load, wash, elute). Current laboratory data work flow and infrastructure is optimized to the use the Phenomenex solid phase extraction plates. This work flow is necessary to ensure timely analysis of 10,000+ urine specimens per year. To meet the needs of our Tobacco Exposure Biomarker assay, the samples must be effectively processed in order to effectively separate out analyte from the urine matrix. The separation of our analyte from any interference from the urine matrix is vital to our assay. This is an ongoing study. To change the product (this late in research) will mean an overhaul of our established work flow, including the need for . This contract action is for additional cross validation tests to ensure the new product is just as effective as the one we are currently using; and this will be more expensive. This contract action is for supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qaq5@cdc.gov by 12:00 pm on March 30, 2020.
